Nowhere else in the world has holiday decorations like the Great Smoky Mountains! From now until January 25, visitors can enjoy a special trolley tour of the amazing Gatlinburg Christmas lights. Alpine Chalet Rentals has put together a convenient guide with everything you need to know about this Winterfest tradition.
Dates and Times
The Trolley Ride of Lights tour runs three times nightly throughout December, with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. The tour will also run on each Saturday night through the month of January. Departure times are at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. on each night of operation.
Location and Ticket Information
Tours depart from the Gatlinburg Mass Transit Center, which is located at traffic light #5 on the Parkway. Tickets for the tour, which are $5.00 per person, may be reserved and purchased online by visiting the official Gatlinburg Trolley Ride of Lights website.
What to Expect
The Trolley Ride of Lights is a delightful 45 minute ride through Gatlinburg’s Winter Magic displays, which feature everything from Smoky Mountain animals to traditional holiday scenes with snowmen, rocking horses, and more! This is an extra special year for the tour as the winter lights program has been completely converted from incandescent bulbs to beautiful LED lighting.
