1. Decide on a Budget
First things first, you should always decide on a budget. Before you do any shopping for rings, dresses or decor, make sure you know exactly how much you plan to spend–and don’t go over that amount! Lots of brides choose a budget, but they never stick to it, so they end up spending much more than they planned. Lay out your costs by item, and decide exactly how much you will spend on each item. For example, if you’re having a small wedding, but invitations are important to you, try not to spend more than $100 on them. Anywhere you can save a little money, do! The costs for a wedding can add up quickly.
2. Sort Out the Legalities
Make sure to pick up your marriage license when you arrive to Tennessee. Everything will be perfect for your wedding day, so you don’t want to forget the most important part–the document that makes it legal! Also, no bride likes to return home after her honeymoon to a stack of documents waiting to be filled out. Go ahead and get all of the legal documents, forms and papers in order, so you can easily send them off upon your return.
3. Stop Stressing Out
Choosing to have your wedding in the Smoky Mountains is the best decision you could have made (or the best decision you will make!). The area is peaceful, and there’s plenty of places to sit back and relax, and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you’re one of those super-planners where everything has to be in order, set it all up before you arrive. Make a folder, and put all of the last-minute details inside the folder, then bring it with you to the Smokies. Take a day or two before your wedding day to catch up on some rest, explore the Smokies and relax.
