A true Smoky Mountain experience can’t be complete without a trip to Dollywood. For 28 years, the theme park has attracted families to the beautiful Smokies, where fun and adventure are the heartbeat of the mountains. After closing in January to prepare for the new season, Dollywood is set to open in March, bigger and better than ever.
The theme park in Pigeon Forge is set to reopen on March 22. At 10:00am, the attractions’ 18th year as Dollywood will kick-off with the Festival of Nations and the opening of new roller coaster, FireChaser Express.
The Festival of Nations will be running until April 21, so families can experience cultures from around the world, including dance, food, music and art. The month-long celebration also has a daily Once World performance where all visiting performers unite for a colorful and unique street jubilee.
The new FireChaser Express will blast open for operation on March 22 as well. Tennessee’s first dual-launching roller coaster will run through the entire 2014 season and beyond, but is subject to closing during lightning, snow and high winds to protect guests. As always, the theme park in Pigeon Forge will be running from 10:00am to 8:00pm each day with the rides, festivals, shops and restaurants that keep families coming back year after year.
After a day of exploring, splashing and laughing, guests of Dollywood can relax in a rustic Smoky Mountain getaway just minutes from the theme park. At Alpine Chalet Rentals, our Pigeon Forge cabins are fully-furnished with linens, dishes and more in a convenient location near attractions and restaurants.
